The Millennium Hollywood team creates developments with an intense respect for the surrounding architectural and community context.  Millennium Partners is a company interested in revitalizing historic downtowns.  Los Angeles is a city of neighborhoods with a number of regional centers.  Hollywood has been a regional center for the residents of Los Angeles for many years, with the historic Vine corridor serving as the focal point of the neighborhood as early as the 1920’s.
 

 
The Millennium Hollywood team has deep respect and knowledge of the Capitol Records Building’s history, form and visual beauty.  The developers are excited to create an environment that showcases the incredible architecture of the iconic building by creating new vantage points from which to see and interact with Hollywood’s architectural history.
 
In the past, Millennium Partners has incorporated historic structures into its developments with great success.  One example of this sensitivity and celebration of history is Millennium Partners’ development of The Ritz-Carlton in the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington, D.C. The mixed-use project consists of an 86-room hotel, 28 condominiums, a 14-screen theater, below-grade parking for 350 cars, and 8,000 square feet of retail space. The development reclaimed a defunct incinerator, which was transformed into the hotel’s public spaces: the lobby, bar, restaurant, and meeting rooms. Views of the famous smokestack were preserved and the smokestack itself became a private dining room 16 feet in diameter. In keeping with Georgetown’s historic character, the buildings were clad in brick, stone, and metal to make a contemporary statement of massing while reinterpreting the vernacular of the historic city.  Historic slave quarters were preserved through a painstaking process involving removal off-site for restoration and returning them to the original site to house the new hotel’s management office.
